The Thrill of True Community

Yesterday was one of the most refreshing days I have enjoyed in years.

One much needed at a time when global unrest occupies the rational mind of most Americans.

The Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce allowed me to be totally myself among a room full of young leaders and business professionals.

The topic explored summed up in three words: Wonder, Capacity, Community!

All present seemed to accommodate my "well-seasoned" spirit, even at times emotional, as we engaged in the wonder of the galaxies, the beauty of creation, and the occasional "rabbit trail" so likely in any of my conversations.

Yes, I told then about my God moment with the Wilderbeasts in Tanzania!

But primarily exploring the unexplainable billions of galaxies,  framed around this relatively tiny blue dot called, Earth.

To our best understanding, those galaxies unoccupied, there perhaps simply as a gift to open us to the awe of the Spirit.

None of this shared as some means of movement toward a rigorously demanding religion; likely the source of the brutality now unfolding in Iraq, with both sides blindly caught up in a nationalism, armed with great weapons of war.

No, our time was focused upon opening ourselves up to the ideation that always flows when awe and wonder afford the human heart with the hope of new possibilities.

I needed that!

We shared such moments as when our first brain, the gut, senses new opportunity.  Then, with our second brain, the heart, holding its values intact, cautiously engages the third, the one most negative, between our ears. Which, if skillfully trained, is sufficient to manage the risks that always emerge.

Our physiology was long ago wired for success deep within our mother's womb, each of us with his/her specific life calling, critical that it be fully unpacked.

And when that calling is pursued, wonderfully attracts sufficient provision for execution and eventual realization.

Oh, and the "why" behind all this, that we might serve each other, holding precious our fellowship in the collective oneness modeled by the galaxies.

That's true community, where love then flows like a river!

Still pumped up this a.m.!
