Religion, Even Medicine Alone Is No Longer Enough!

This morning, I'm wondering if AI is not God's gift to humanity, much like medicine?
Technology now providing instant access to a knowledge base otherwise lost to nonreaders, just as medicine is now a welcomed necessity for extending our lives?
Just being transparent!
Perhaps both are gifts of grace, given the distance we have moved from the righteousness and wisdom available through the Christ in us.
Once upon a time, even in my lifetime, folk fully expected God to deliver upon our prayers for healing and other provisions.
In our daily hustle as professing Christians, it seems we have long lost the deep trust of scripture, and acts such as laying hands on the sick, the elders anointing with oil, etc.
I mean for real, beyond some last ditch effort where our objective is merely to show some pious act of religious affection or worse yet, pastoral obligation. Not throwing stones, but rather challenging my own self!
Oh, and you can forget raising of the dead!
Just thinking out loud, with my thumb on my cell phone as I process my continued observation and contrast of the Body of Christ with what Luke the physician has recorded in the Acts of the Apostles!
You're thinking I should do a little more prayer and fasting and less processing online. I feel you!
"We church folk" seem so distant from any true expectation of similar life styles and spiritual expectations, even among Pentecostals.
I am a 4th generation Pentecostal! So been there done that, though never yet having seen a body raised from the dead!
However, I am still challenged by a now distant conversation with a pastor's wife while visiting Ethiopia years ago! My friend testified to having seen five dead raised in her aged lifetime!
Her "proof in the pudding" was later evidenced by me when she delivered a piece of toast which she had "prayed over" to the front desk of the Sheraton where I was staying. It was the the morning I was to leave for my 20+ hour flight home. I was so nasty sick that I denied her access to my room!
I had picked up a parasite and felt deathly ill! She instructed me to tear off a piece to eat each time I became nauseous.
Needless to say, my flight home was eventless!!
Of course when I got home, and shared my experience, Ciprofloxacin "cypro" was prescribed!
I thank God for technology, medicine and as well, the Word that still speaks through the text of scripture if one is spiritually hungry and willing to listen to the Spirit.
Just an old guy with "hunger pains" who has seen too much to settle for religion alone!

A lot has changed since 1971
I have seen things in my lifetime that have clearly proven to me that God exists. But that didn’t make me go crazy.
“That” God gave us intelligence and reasoning and we get to use it for everything except questioning the Bible and the church. Where is that line between cults where nothing is questioned and healthy, informative curiosity?
If we question the church we are then questioning Jesus who is said to head the church. Nice way to establish human control over parishioners. Brilliant actually but not very holy considering all the abuse it’s used to justify.
And how do we justify not questioning an inch thick, small printed, ambiguous bible that is all over the place where even…
