Well it's September 27th, and I just entered what is likely my last quarter of life, never thought I'd even get here!
Many whom I have known, even taught, some as young teens have passed. Life span has little to do with what one deserves based upon merit.
Having the right DNA is a part, my dad is still kicking at 98! In fact, just yesterday as I was pushing him around in a wheel chair at VA, not because he can't walk but just for his comfort, we got on the elevator and a gentleman noticed his WWII hat, thanked him for his service, then looked at me and asked if I might be his brother!
Dad sure looks young for his age!! Ha,
I heard that thought..."or I look old for my own!" I have run hard these 75 years, but have I ever had fun and yes covered by grace!
Hopefully, folk see that grace in my daily walk, my life's blessings and my call to community service!
As I have said many times, I want to be totally used up when I die, in fact I just read this quote from a book by Hunter Thompson:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Now, I'm off for an early MRI, my Dr. is amazing at his timing! Enjoy your day!
You have been blessed beyond measure. prayers for a good MRI
