Could God Be Up To Something Big?

As I read of my own country, America (boasting now more than ever, "One nation under God") with her new attacks upon Iran, while Isreal advances its aggression upon Hezbollah in Lebanon, these conflicts seem now positioning all three monotheistic religions together in war, yet my spirit is strangely stirred with hope!

Simultaneously, I am working my way through Isaiah. I must now ponder how folk in that region, when reading these same ancient words might think?

Could it be that these nations, each deeply directed by beliefs grounded in their own ancient religion, might somehow sovereignly be confronted with the individual fallacies that brought them to this point...each in the "name of God!"

"In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.” Isaiah 19:23-25 NIV

This is not a political message, as I understand the justification being offered from a defense standpoint. Rather, from a global brotherhood perspective, from a much higher "altitude", pondering how mankind got here over the centuries!

This sovereign God thing is either real or its not!! If real and "God is Love", this could get interesting!
