A Well-Intended Judas?

Updated: 1 day ago

I am convinced that Judas' motive was pure in his sight, though later his own repentance and suicide evidenced his confusion. Judaism nor Christianity has ever accepted such.

He was so convinced of Jesus as the long awaited Messiah, he perhaps thought if he could just get him in front of the powers that be, Jesus would show out, fulfilling what the Maccabee revolt two centuries before was unable to accomplish.

Yet, God in Christ even called him, Friend. Jesus knowing that crucifixion was the ultimate objective, fulfilling the long practiced sacrifice of The Lamb.

Judas would simply set it off!

Never again would man be able to justify a wrath filled God, but One who loves like no other, for "God is love!"

It is my belief that when there are conflicting stories in scriptural text, i.e. he "hanged himself" or leaped over a cliff and his "bowels burst", there's more to the story.

Just my thoughts, though often unconventional.
