The Intercessor Long Promised, Now Provided

ree

As I read the story of Joseph's life, the Spirit takes my mind well into the future, with the record of Judah's far distant offspring, Jesus, the very Christ of God.

The prophetic nature of these Old Testament stories is amazing, their unlikely fulfillment well captured in the New! Spanning centuries across different countries, with multiple authors all concurring. That's so unlikely apart from some outside, enduring influence.

When read with an open heart, they tell a story far better, with a message far richer and more promising, than our lives as believers seem able to portray.

"It's my life on the line for his, I'll take all the blame."

Think about it! You were loved long before you were alive!

"Judah pushed his father Israel. “Let the boy go; I’ll take charge of him. Let us go and be on our way—if we don’t get going, we’re all going to starve to death—we and you and our children, too! I’ll take full responsibility for his safety; it’s my life on the line for his. If I don’t bring him back safe and sound, I’m the guilty one; I’ll take all the blame."

Genesis 43:8-10, The Message.
