There is such a message for us built around Stephen in Acts 6-7. The benefit of being spiritually prepared for "that moment" in life when you are handed the proverbial baton. He was so well versed in the faith and ready when called before the Synagogue of the Freedman (such irony).

My guess is there is another Stephen somewhere being positioned for just such a moment given the chaos and division now present in American Christianity.
