It's Not The Text, Nor Theology Alone, But The Trajectory!

This morning as I was scrolling through social media, my eyes noticed the post above, I had to respond, as it so spoke to my concerns of late.

Given the political divide within the Body of Christ, as well as institutional and generational gaps in understanding of scripture, it would be easy for one to ignore the value of this ancient writ.

Interpreted multiple times, and sadly sometimes solely to justify one's personal theological position, I can understand such disregard for scripture.

Worse yet, if one's only approach to sharing their beliefs is some hardened insistence upon literal acceptance, apart from any understanding of cultural origin.

Rejection of both the "baby and the wash" is almost certain by thoughtful individuals, who have no relational experience with the Divine.

First the word "Word" as in the "the Word (Logos) became flesh" is what we should be about communicating, not the literal text, though necessary to walk us toward that understanding.

The text, particularly in the Old Testament was there to simply aid Creation in comprehending her Creator. A pedagogical tool that began with certain commandments meant as a "schoolmaster until", all for the greater good moreso than limitations upon this One known as, Love!

Keep in mind, that early communication was not a direct download, but by way of inspiration, flowing through the filters of fellow human beings, along with oral communication between and across multiple eras of time.

The validity however, at least per my thoughts, comes from the messianic trajectory that flows from remedy first mention in Genesis 3:15, typed by sacrifices offered, festivals prescribed, architecture constructed, and prophetic utterances, all describing a Being soon to dwell among us.

Even in times of captivity individuals were uniquely positioned as bridges until such moment occurred. Abram, then Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David, Daniel, Zechariah, etc...clearly a providential trajectory toward a Babe in Bethlehem.

With a majority of prophecies fulfilled, Isreal reestablished against all odds, generations of testimonials of supernatural intervention, many most miraculous, don't allow the hardened religious element now forming out of this political uncertainty to dissuade you from the reality and reason behind this ancient book.

You are known and you are loved!
