A Sudden Avalanche

As I wrapped up my read this morning, I was covered over by the landslide of prophetic insights provided by Zechariah. So many foundational stones upon which the Christian faith is built.

Glimpses, snippets of truth, undeniably fulfilled in the Christ some 500 years later (there's that number again). Surely more that awaits fulfillment!

Call it cherry-picking on my part, some scriptures even squeezed together, but I found it refreshing!

"Behold, thy King cometh...just and having salvation; lowly, riding upon a colt. His dominion from sea to sea."

"By the blood of the covenant, prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water."

"Prisoners of hope!" A marginal note made almost 50 years old, "chained to the promises of the Word." That was what I was banking my new life upon when first scribbled back in '75.

"His arrow shall go forth as lightening. They shall be as stones of a crown."

"So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver...cast it unto the Potter"(think Matt.27:7).

"In that day, I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people."

"They shall look upon me whom they have pierced. What are these wounds in thine hands? Wounded in the house of my friends."

"Smite the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered."

"I will bring the third part through the fire...they will call upon my name and I will hear them."

"I will gather all nations against Jerusalem...His feet shall stand that day upon the Mount of Olives."

"And the Lord shall be King over all the earth...and there shall be no more utter destruction."

"HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD...in that day, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord... there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord." Perhaps one day, a full inclusion and redemption of the three Abrahamic religions, to include American Christianity?

Lot to be digested!
